 Fan Club Fundraiser for Dale Jr.’s Birthday
Jr. Nation Fan Club Member, Dottie Benedict, woke up one morning in April and thought to herself, “I want to do something creative for Dale Jr.” So she sat down at her computer and after chatting on the JR Nation Crew Fan Club Forum she came up with a great idea: The dedicated members of The JR Nation Crew would give Dale Jr. a Birthday present this year by donating to The Dale Jr. Foundation in his honor on October 10th. Dottie raised interests on the Fan Club Forum and encouraged everyone to start putting aside whatever money they could every month. The Crew decided to donate the funds by purchasing Hard Card Memberships through The Foundation’s website (www.thedalejrfoundation.org). Dale Jr. had already committed to matching the donations of the fans for 2009 – so the Fan Club knew they could ‘double their donations’ by participating in the Hard Card Program.
Her idea became a great Fan Club Fundraiser for The Dale Jr Foundation. In just six months, the Fan Club saved up over $1,500 dollars. They made their generous donation to The Dale Jr. Foundation on Dale’s 35th Birthday which was this past Saturday, October 10. Combined with Dale Jr’s matching gift, a total of $3,000 will go to help charities such as The Make-A-Wish Foundation and Victory Junction Gang Camp.
